The Blogger:
My name is Shalena. I'm from Tennessee, married my high school sweetheart, and have a penchant for fan-girling things I love (such as Doctor Who and My Little Pony). I can be crazy and talkative or quiet and thoughtful, all depends on what's going on. I have universes in my mind but love the people of my reality (not difficult because I have the best family and friends). I've been through and continue to deal with some tough stuff but I try to stay positive and keep persevering.

When it comes to reading, YA is my favorite. I love the paranormal/supernatural sub-genre and also anything with mystery. But since becoming a blogger I have expanded my reading comfort zone, so I do read many different types of stories and have even ventured into (gasp!) non-YA fiction. Reviewing books has made me a more critical reader, as well as a more thoughtful writer.

What I write is mostly like what I read. I've been writing YA stories since before I was a teenager and continue to do so today. I've completed three novels with the help of NaNoWriMo and am currently revising the fourth draft of one of those novels. I plan to seek publication, but only when I'm ready, which is a while off yet. Until then, I'm trying to write and learn as much as I can.
