Help! Fire! Chocolate! Help!

Okay, so my post title may not make a whole lot of sense if you've never heard the track "Chocolate" by The Smothers Brothers (play the video at the end of the post to for some 1960's comedy goodness!), but I need some assistance in the form of reader feedback.

I've seen on several blogs/sites that using a black background with white or bright text for a blog is, in a word, wrong.  The reasoning seems to be that it is difficult to read said blog.  So...

is my technicolor killin' you?

If so, I need to know.  I want my blog to reflect me, quirk that I am, but there is no point having a blog if it burns your eyes every time you visit.  So, if you have read this, please, please, please for the love of all that is Fatty, let me know what you think by commenting on this post.

Thanks for visiting and enjoy the song (from the video) below!

  1. LOL, The blue seems fine to me. My eyes don't seem to squint, but the purple text is a nightmare to read. It's so glary and sort of mixes all together when you look at it a long time.

Your posts aren't usually very long either so it doesn't affect me. Usually it does though. Once I opened up a blog that had purple text on a black background, I didn't even get past the first sentence before I gave up and didn't even click follow.

I do think your white and blue is ok though, and you use 'bigger' text, so just see what other people say :) (I would change the purple though)

  2. I like the look of your background. I think the blue writing on black helps it's not as bright as just plain white. And I love those circles, coolness :)

  3. I say leave it as is. It doesn't bother me and it represents the person you are. lol

  4. Thanks for the feedback ladies!

Alli Allo: I do understand about the purple. I'm probably going to try a lighter shade, but if that still doesn't work, let me know.

Crystal: Thanks! Blue is usually my favorite color (rotates with purple and green, if that weren't obvious from my chosen color scheme, lol)

J.L.: Thank you! And it does represent me pretty well, as I'm kind of simultaneously bright and dark.

Thanks again and let me know if you have any other thoughts/suggestions!
