Top Ten of the Moment [5]

Top Ten of the Moment is a new meme from Swimmer over at Books, Writing, and More, Oh My!! to be hosted every Thursday.

How this meme works is that Swimmer will choose a topic (food, books, etc.) and will pick her current top ten.  If you want to participate, all you have to do is create your own top ten for Swimmer's selected topic and put your TTotM link in the Mr. Linky on her post.  Easy enough, right?

This week's topic is:  Best Movies Taken from Books!
(to see Swimmer's top ten, click HERE)

This is essentially a list of my favorite movies and is not a reflection on how good the book was or how precise the film adaptation.

My Top Ten:
  1.  Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King from the book by J.R.R. Tolkien
  2.  Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers from the book by J.R.R. Tolkien
  3.  Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring from the book by J.R.R. Tolkien
  4.  The Phantom of the Opera from the book by Gaston Leroux
  5.  Little Women from the book by Louisa May Alcott
  6.  The Secret Garden from the book by Frances Hodgson Burnett
  7.  Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire from the book by J.K. Rowling
  8.  Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince from the book by J.K. Rowling
  9.  The Twilight Saga:  Eclipse from the book by Stephenie Meyer
  10.  The Count of Monte Cristo from the book by Alexandre Dumas

  2. You totally should! They are amazingly well-made movies, full of action and humor and character! (Do I sound like I love LOTR just a bit?)

  3. Lord of the Rings is AMAZING! I love all the movies on the list, although, I think I could have thought up something I liked better than Phantom of the Opera.

  4. Lol, Phantom of the Opera is a recent love. I actually hated it when I first watched it, but I fell in love with the music and for some reason that made it newly spectacular.

Plus, it was the only musical I could think of that was also a book. Okay, now that I think about I thought of a few others (Wizard of Oz, Mary Poppins) but those are movies I wouldn't consider for my faves list. Good movies, classics, no doubt, but not personally my favorites.
